Wadi Musa - Moses Velley: This picture was taken near a village called Wadi Musa. Here it's where, after the Bible, Moses beat three times on a rock, which broke apart and came out water. Here near there's also the dead city of Petra.
Petra - As-Siq: Soon later than you start your visit to Petra, you'll find yourself on the beginning of a tight canyon. It's just wrong to say that you "visit" Petra, because feeling are so strong, the charm of anything you see, the majesty of anything sorrounding you is so great, and hits you so deep that, on the end, you feel like meeting Petra, or better, she meets you. She meets you with only what she wants to show you, and all the time you think of what you are missing from your sight. Still outside the valley of Petra, you can see some buildings carved into the rocks, but, if you want to reach the hearth of the lost city of Petra, you have to walk the "As-Siq", the canyon that will lead you straight into the legend of Petra.
Petra - The Treasure: While walking down the "As-Siq", you'll feel that the walls will be closing on you. Light will be hardly coming to you from the top of the canyon. Just when you're getting used to the darkness, you'll walk after a small bend, and you'll get shocked. If the day is sunny, you'll see, bright through the darkness of the breech of the canyon, the most famous building in Petra. This building is called "The Treasure". It's told that in past it guarded the real treasure of Petra. After centuries of searches no one ever found it. Many people lost their lives in the search, like the famous Lawrence of Arabia that was killed because he didn't find this treasure. New researches found that, buried under the gate of "The Treasure" there's the entrance to some new chambers... This place has still many secrets to tell.
Petra - The Treasure: I'm sending you this picture so, you can see The Treasure in her full majesty.

Petra -
The Street of Facades: The lost city of Petra is famous for the building called
"The Treasure", but it's not just that. All the vally is full of
masterpieces carved into the rocks. Many are wonderful, while others are much
more simple, but still beautiful. In this picture you can see the "Street
of Facades" this place is full of facades carved into the rock. I liked it
in many ways. I liked it like a wonderful relic from the past, I liked it for
it's holy meaning, and also because I worked as a bricklayer and I know what a
terrible work should have been to carve even the simpliest ones. Our guide said
that this place was only designed for burial ceremonies. But in the book that
I've read, it's told that many civilizations came here. First arabs, then
Egiptians, after Greeks and Romans. Were build markets, temples and cisterns
for water. Romans changed the flow of a river (I'm proud of my ancestros that
saved this place from the floods of the river!!!). So, why to make all this
work if it was only a burial place? It looks like it was inhabitated. This was
said by scolars, not just by me.
Petra - The Street of Facades: I'm sending you this picture to show you the size of these facades carved into this rock.
